Renaissance Off Campus Program (ROC) celebrates the joys and family closeness of homeschooling, enabling families to have direct interaction with their student’s education while also allowing for quality family time, travel, student commitments in sports, the arts, or other passions, field trips, park days, etc.
To ease the parent burden of planning, gathering materials, and finding assistance when needed, Renaissance provides all materials, supplies, and professionally-supported, structured instruction in the 4 core learning areas of Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Advanced students may be eligible for “grade up” options in one or more subject areas.
Home Learning Days
Parents or guardians are “Learning Coaches.” The expectation is that students have 4-5 days of Home Learning to complete each week (dependent on student learning style). ROC provides families with all the textbooks, materials, and instructional manuals needed to assist each student in their core subjects.
Learning Coaches are directly involved in their student’s core subject learning and have flexibility to schedule their Home Learning hours and days to serve their families best. Learning Coaches ensure that students keep reasonably close to the pacing provided to ensure student success.
The Learning Coach’s assistance and oversight are critical for Home Learning Days.
Assistance
Professional instructors and experienced homeschoolers are available to support parents in coaching their students. Whether troubleshooting how to structure the day for specific needs, assistance with core content questions, or ideas on how to help a student succeed, Renaissance staff is ready to assist! ROC focuses on offering curriculum that enables each student to be well-prepared for their next learning level. Parents are also able to schedule onsite assistance with or without their students.
Electives
Students will have two electives in addition to their four core classes. Electives are available in person or off campus. Students may choose in-person electives on Monday in Highland, or Friday in Farmington Hills. Students who are enrolled in Renaissance Players attend that program on Wednesday. Students are welcome to self pay for additional electives if they choose.

Renaissance Academy is a drop-off program with trained staff onsite. Students are expected to maintain appropriate behavior at all times.
Our group and classes are structured so families of differing political and religious views will feel comfortable and respected. We are not political and are neither a religious group nor a secular group.
